DICK WOLF!

Bio

DICK WOLF! is a Chicago trio introducing a distinctive blend of math rock and experimental pop to the indie scene. Their sound centers around bright, intricate guitar riffs and explosive drums that give way to uniquely crafted vocal melodies. Since their formation in 2009, they have headlined such local venues as the Double Door and the Empty Bottle, and have toured the midwest.

Press

  • Loud Loop Press (album review)

“Dick Wolf! write pop songs, just not straight forward ones. That’s not an easy task but on Entropy it’s quite a rewarding one.”

  • Circuit Sweet (year-end feature)

    “”

  • Radio K (Track of the Day)

“...electric riffs stinging from all directions throughout, [with] catchy melodies still managing to prevail.”

  • Circuit Sweet

“This band offer accomplished math rock at its best, fused with propitious harmonious experimental pop. Raucous riffs ravish the band’s efforts flirting with buoyant beats and fills creating an overall sound of success.”

  • AV Club Chicago (interview)

“The group’s math-pop sound is fresh and fun.”

  • Time Out Chicago

“These guys romp through mathy, tap-happy art-punk.”

  • DIT Kalamazoo

“They’re tight, technical, and super sweet, with lyrics that will make you reconsider what lyrics are really all about in general anyway. Math Rock meets excellent songwriting.”

  • Windy City Rock

“[DICK WOLF!] proves their technical proficiency with stimulating juxtapositions between melodic and dissonant sections.”

  • Loud Loop Press

“While their album is chock full of tapping, warping time changes and eccentric tempos, they still manage to concoct some very bouncy and fun melodies, which makes [the DICK WOLF! demo] an extremely promising debut.”
